Wilco drummer/virtuoso/all-around handsome nice guy Glenn Kotche recently disclosed to Filter Magazine his Top 10 albums of 2009. Guess what? All My Friends Are Funeral Singers was his number one pick!

It really is. I am suprised that it has not received more praise. In fact I haven’t seen it on any (major) lists what so ever. Do I expect it to be number 1 p
on every list, of course not. But a little love would be nice.

Great pick Glenn. ‘Funeral Singers’ is definitely one of my favorite records of 2009, and I think if it’s not on top of a lot of best of lists at the moment, people will look back and see that it really should have been. I also hope that the two albums Vic Chesnutt released this year will be appreciated…and not because of his passing, but because they are truly great works of art.
